i was given a pokemon silver and i started a new game then after a while i saved it then turned my SP off. later on i try it on my brothers nintendo gameboy (the oldest kind) for the heck of it and it makes me start a new game- it doesnt have the game that i allready started. i figured oh well its probably the gameboy and i start another game on it and play for a few minutes then i save and turn it off. later i try it again on my SP and again it makes me start a new game and it doesnt have a continue game option. i start another game then play for a few more minutes. next i tried saving, turning off and then turn it back on w/out removing the cartridge and yet again it doesnt have the continue game option. has this ever happened to you and if so, was it fixable and how did u fix it? or if there are any electronic experts?

you can fix it yourself by opening up the cart and changing internal battery. Instruction website @ my source.

the pokemon silver is a game-boy color game and the oldest game-boy is not a color game-boy. the slot in which you put the game is also not the exact same size as the color, advance, or Sp and was not designed to play color games. from what it sounds like you may have ruined the part of the game that controls memory and you can't really fix it unless you get a brand new silver or gold or crystal because they are all the same and since gameboy games are out of date you can get them for pretty cheap now days.

Same thing happened to my Yu-Gi-Oh game for GBA. The memory battery is dead so just do what the guy did on hiis website then save a new game(like a test try) and if it saves you can start a new game without losing data!
