from everyone's answer, I'm gathering that you all started watching anime less than 5 years ago. I have been a viewer for about 15 years and if I had to pick my favorite, it would have to be .... a tie. between Ranma 1/2 and Naruto. I love em both and can't get enough of either. For you anibabes, Ranma was made by the creator of Inuyasha. Oh, and anibabes is not an insult. I too was an anibaby, but now I'm an animaniac (no connection to yakko, wakko, and dot).

The one I am currently watching is Bleach, so I think I might have to go with that one. But there are tons and tons of Anime that are my favorite, to name another Yu Yu Hakusho. Naruto wasn't that bad(i read the manga). I could go on and on and on and on and on and on..... Card Captor Sakura was my first Anime ever, and I was too young to realize it was an anime, until my sister told me, lol. I still love CCS... Yu-Gi-Oh was next, but it was very repetitive, still love it though... Oh well, since I am watching it, I will go with Bleach! Super Cool. Tite Kubo outdoes himself! Yeah!!! Sweet Anime Dreams everyone ^.^

FullMetal Alchemist. (Hagane no Renkinjutsushi) The characters are all perfectly real in their own right. They are all flawed, making it a perfect anime. The plot is also perfect. Everything starts simple and then everything bleeds together. (Into one big conspiracy! xD jk) I also like that it isn't that long, but long enough to hold your intrest. (51 episodes and a movie) Anyway, that's my take~! ^^

Gundam seed and Gundam Seed Destiny Forever!!!!! I still like GSD even if asucaga relationship disappointed me...... It's the best!!! I'm a big asucaga fan!!!!!
