I believe you mean colposcopy? Everyone is assuming colonoscopy...A colposcopy is to check cells after a Pap smear comes back inconclusive. Yes I have had a few. What happens is basically like a regular vaginal exam. You lie down with feet in stirrups, then the doctor will insert a speculum, and he has a light at the end of the table that he uses to look at your cervix. He may wash your cervix with a vinegary solution (it doesn't hurt or sting) and if white spots then show up on your cervix they will take a biopsy. IF they need to do this you will feel a pinching sensation, and you may spot for a few days and have mild cramping. They will tell you not to have intercourse or douche or use tampons for about two weeks to avoid the risk of infection. Good luck!!!

Had one last week. Your instructions will say NOT to take anything - so dont.
The worst part, by far, is the first hour after you start taking the laxative.
I had biopsies done. Wouldnt have been able to tell you if they didn't tell me.
Dont plan on going to work the next day - you'll be a litlte spacey from the valium still.

Are you referring to colposcopy? Take 800 mg of ibupropen before you go in. You will feel kind of bad cramping if they take a biopsy, but other than that its painless.
