How do they decide overall fantasy rankings?

Its easy if ur just talking about just offense, or just pitching, but how can u combine them to make the final rankings? Is there some sort of formula to figure out if a certain pitcher is of more use to a team than a certain batter, and vice versa? Ive just been kind of curious. Thanx

Don't worry about the Yahoo rankings, they should only be used as a guidline.
