Borat movie - were the 'Extras' for real, or just acting?

Did Borat really make a fool of himself in the train, or were they all just actors? You know the scene where his chicken falls out of the suitcase. I thought that was very funny!

the only one who knew what was going on was pam anderson, the rest was all real. example: the rodeo scene, he had some very angry people actually chase him out after that. The frat guys? one of them is sueing Sascha Baron Cohen for something or other. And the villagers? that scence was actually filmed in romania and the village is suing him because apparently film makers told them it was a documentary and they werent being made fun of.
