because you're young you will probably lose the weight quick if you have healthy habits, most women will take about a year at best to lose the weight. just remember it takes 9 months to put the weight on and it may take that long to lose it.

You'll lose about 15 pounds at delivery alone.
For the first few months, you will be so exhausted that losing weight SHOULD be the last thing on your mind. If you eat right and breast feed, you'll lose the weight in about 3 months.
Also, you're younger. You NEED to eat more than 1800 calories because YOU are still growing too. If your doctor isn't worried about your weight, you shouldn't be worried either.
I gained 20 pounds, lost 15 during delivery, then gained 10 pounds due to depression. Obviously not fun. Now with my second I've gained around 5 pounds and am 5 months pregnant.
Good luck!

Please do not restrict your diet to 1800 calories a day unless your doctor has approved it. If it is not approved and is too little, it could be unhealthy for you and baby.
That said, I had thyroid problems with my second one that caused me to gain more quickly. With my first I gained 70 and with my second I gained 50. I lost the weight both times in 9 months with minimal dieting or exersice (other than chasing two toddlers around).
Having a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby is the most important thing. For some, they gain more than they wanted to. It's going to be the first in a long line of things that you sacrifice for your child. Your body will change, but you can still look fabulous after a baby (see how many moms look great). This is really something you shouldn't worry about until after you have the baby and recover from delivery.
Congrats and good luck!

Well with my first child I gained 37 pounds.. now that took me about 7 months to loose it all...
With my second child I gained 42 pounds..and it only took me 2 months to loose it all
With my third child I gained 14 pounds, well and basically walked out of the hospital having to loose 5 pounds.
Everyone is differant. It all depends on how motivated you are to loose the weight. I wouldn't be too concerned, enjoy your pregnancy and eatting what you can (now to a point)
Im sure you still look great! Good Luck

I was REALLY young when i had my first child. I was 15 and 105 lbs when i got preg. with my daughter, whom is now 7. I weighed 187 lbs when i went into the hospital to have her. (she was a 9lbs baby). i was huge!! lol. but i lost all the weigh within a couple months. At no time at all really. I didn't really do any exercising, besides to normal lifting, squatting, and walking.....that i do on a daily basis. I am 22 and almost 7 months preg right now, and i have gained about 25lbs already. This ones a boy and I'm all belly. You cant really help it. I don't eat outrageously.
I wouldn't worry about it. The weight will come off in due time. Especially with you being young.

I gained 20 and lost 12 at delivery. I breast fed for 3 months and actually ended up weighing less then when I first got pregnant. It will drop off. I work with someone who gained 84 pounds during her pregnancy. She is the littlest thing now. Don't worry, it's just your body adapting to the changes. Good Luck with everything.

Sounds like you were thin to start with, so don't worry about the weight, eat!!!!
You will not have the chance to eat what you want after you are through being pregnant. I gained 30lbs while pregnant (I was about 10-15lbs over my ideal weight). It took me about 3 months to lose it. I lost 15lbs in the first 6 weeks. After that I had to work at it, I wasn't able to breastfeed so I was able to limit my calorie intake and exercise, I hiked for about 1-2 hours almost every day. My daughter wasn't a napper in the beginning and she would only sleep while in the bjorn, so I hiked! Enjoy being pregnant and getting round! Good luck!

i've had 3 kids, with all the pregnancies i've gained about 30 pounds each with each baby. but with my first baby i actually lost alot of weight, the baby weight and my regular weight. so with the second i went up a size, and of course the third baby i went up another size. so i just depends on the persons body, cause some people after birth they either gain or lose.
