Have you ever been treated unfairly?

Describe a time. I am writing a newspaper article about unfair situations.

Well being Hispanic I've been treated differently than the ordinary Joe. People, to this day, sometimes act as if they were expecting some kind of "ethnicism" from me when I tell them my Spanish name. When I was 14 I started school here in Florida and not having an 'American' cultural background a lot of what was going on went over my head. Middle-school kids can be horrible to other kids. They made fun of me for being ignorant about the "obvious" and my accent.

I've come a long way from those days. I'm sure people still expect me to talk about rice and beans or who's the best reggaeton singer. My identity isn't my race or the stereotypes surrounding it. But I'd be lying if I told you that my race didn't make part of my identity. Puerto Ricans are very proud and kind people, and I wouldn't deny any of it.

It is true most Hispanics are treated differently because most of them migrate to make money for their families back home. Many of them feel oppressed by the Caucasian majority and feel the need to be resilient to American culture while some want to learn about American culture and see what they can become.

I work in a predominantly black office and I get treated unfairly quite often. Ex. I had to have major surgery therefore I had to fill out paperwork for FMLA. No big deal....I couldn't get paid the entire time I was off but I still had a job to come back to. About the same time another girl (black) had surgery--not as major--took FMLA and GOT PAID. She was hired the same day as me so had an equal amount of sick and vacation time accumulated. However, because the office manager (black)went to the church where the girls husband preached she somehow worked around the system to get this girl a paycheck since she was the only source of steady income! WTF!! I had two kids to support without any help. Jerks.....

Of course. I think everyone has at some point or another. Many years ago, I was turned down for a promotion, not because I didn't deserve it more, per my boss. No, I didn't get it because Ray was married and had a wife and two kids that he supported. The fact that I support a husband wasn't the same thing, per my boss.

Yes, my sister did something wrong (can't remember what it was , cause i am too tired at the moment) and my mom yelled at me for it. It is a reasonable mistake but yet it got me mad for some reason. I think its just i hate getting yelled at or being around yelling. I have probably been treated more unfairly before but, can't remember.

ok this guy was harassing a girl so I stepped in and said he should knock it off....he took a swing at me I blocked and broke his nose. his 3 friends jumped me I finally had them all down...I got 2 months detention and they got absolutely nothing for harassing the girl or starting the fight cuz they're a bunch of jocks.

I've been discriminated against when I was obese. It was like I was invisible when I'd go some places.

yes. i was in high school an left englash class to help fight a fire an got a unexcussed absence.ironic it was the principal's home that was on fire.

yeh bcus my "friend" said that i said somethin bout her that i really didnt and she wont belive me that i didnt so it is really unfair bcus when i try to just be nice she tellls me to shut up and get a life
