They are both great hunters. but a big difference is that one of them has gone totally mad and shoots humans for fun. Rainsford loves the hunt but doess not enjoy being hunted. It is a huge irony when he says at the beginning of the story that prey dont have feelings and then he becomes the prey.very good story.

they both love to hunt. but zaroff loves to hunt a "different" kind of game than rainsford.
