4 cups white vinegar 20%
1/4 cup salt
2 teaspoons dish detergent

Combine ingredients and spray on unwanted grass and weeds being carefull not to spray on any wanted grass and plants. The mixture is absorbed by leaves and blades of grass and will kill them.

This is an organic method that works great!

A very common question (I work in a garden centre in the pesticides isle) Diazanon. As long as there are no other plants that you want around. Diazanon will kill everything. This is normally sold in a 4L jug. and you would need your own sprayer/hose. I would only use this however if you were not planning on planting anything near by for two years. once it gets into the dirt it lingers in the soil. If you do plan on planting flowers around it, or with other plants around it Round Up is one of the best. however you will spray the plant down by the root, wait a couple hours (a day would be best) and you would do this once every month or three months dependant on how deep the roots are and what type of weeds are nearby (ie neighbours). Hope this helps.

Round Up is good....... but did you know, you can always use plain old boiling water? It cooks them to the roots and sterilizes them so they don't re-sprout. They should wilt down or turn yellow within minutes. It has to be as close to boiling as possible though.

I use it in the cracks in my patio and the sidewalk, and it lasts for months. When new weeds or grass show up.... I just boil them again.
You can't use it on bigger areas in the garden, because it kills all the little healthy organisms, but it works fine for just spot treating.

It's safe around birds and animals as well.

Go to Home Depot in the paint dept. and get a couple gallons of muriatic acid. You can wear some old clothes, put it in a cheap plastic yard can and pour it on your walks cracks etc. It works perfect, don't get it on you or off the walk but it kills in a New Youk minute and lasts for months. about 3 dollars a gallon. You can cut it down with water or use it straight--keep your pets away until it dries. It does not hurt the environment it dissipates to zip. It will not eat up your bricks or cement. Used it for 8 years in NC.

I agree with several others: Roundup. Effective, one or two treatments last all summer, and it's not persistant ecologically. Deadly when sprayed on plants, but once it's in the soil, it's rendered harmless.

Easy, ya piss on them. The acid in urine kills all the bad plants. Problem is that the odor is very unpleasant.
