I would try pushing the issue that they look into this further. You could have kidney stones, kidney infection, or any number of things that are causing such pain. Unless I overlooked it, I didn't see anywhere where you mentioned how far along you are. If your doctor hasn't done so yet, I would go ahead and push for a glucose tolerance test, because just prior to finding out I had gestational diabetes, I had a lot of kidney troubles myself. But I am guessing you are possibly further along in your pregnancy?
I would certainly have them do another ultrasound. If they don't want to, and I hate to say this, but the next time you are in this excruciating pain, go to the hospital ER and tell them exactly what you are feeling and that you are concerned something is wrong with your baby. They will likely run several tests, but will possibly also check in on your little one and make sure he/she is okay.
I don't understand why your doctor hasn't already looked further into this level of pain with urination...yes, everything can be very uncomfortable particularly in later pregnancy, but this sounds more like something serious may be wrong and should definitely not be ignored....you don't want to be going into labor and having some type of serious infection going on in your body at the same time. Sometimes you just have to be a real ***** with doctors, and let them know that even though they see tons of pregnant women each and every day, that doesn't mean your individual situation and concerns are unimportant, or something to be blown off. Doctors know a high stress level can have some of the worst negative effects on a pregnant woman than anything else, and being truly scared and not knowing what is wrong is certainly an elevation in stress.
Like I said, if all else fails, go to the hospital ER and tell them what you are experiencing, and that you are very concerned that something serious is wrong.
Best of luck to you!
