A few drinks.......the rest of your life knowing you have probably hurt your child and given them a much harder life to live. You'll realize a good drunk was not worth it, oh wait.......you probably won't.

I too drank once before I knew I was pregnant.... I got drunk of of like 2 drinks though, I knew something was not right! Took a pregnancy test and lo and behold... pregnant. Now, as far as drinking goes, one glass of wine occasionally is said to be ok. However, it is very unsafe to drink while pregnant. Iv'e seen babies with fetal alcohol syndrome.... It's terrible! They are handicapped for life. Do some research on it, I'm sure it will change your mind forever about drinking again while pregnant. I understand you are worried about the damage it may have done. My advice is to move foward and do the next right thing (it's all any of us can do!). Also, I would eat really good and be sure to be honest with your health care provider so that they can run the appropriate tests to see if your baby is ok. I hope that all is well! Best wishes!

You could have don't some damage to the baby, But with any luck it didn't hurt it at all. Before i found out i was pregnant, i had gotten drunk too, and there seems to me no damage done.(although the baby isn't born yet) I'm 33 weeks. Just try not to worry too much about it, I'm sure everything will turn out great!
good luck

"I am very regretful and i will not do it again..."
Okay, but how many times have you said that?
"but do you think i have done any damage to my baby???"
Nobody on here can tell you that. SMALL amounts of alcohol are NOT known to cause any damage, but 10 =! 'small amounts.'
"In general, alcohol-related birth defects (such as heart defects) are more likely to result from drinking during the first trimester, while growth problems are more likely to result from drinking in the third trimester. However, drinking at any stage of pregnancy can affect the brain."

I'm pretty liberal when it comes to wee amounts of booze while pregnant, but getting drunk? Come on. If you couldn't manage to stop yourself last weekend, you have zero guarantees for this weekend. Really, regular AA meetings would be something to consider, even if you don't think of yourself as an alcoholic. Yet.

wow.
Yes you could have a fetal alcohol syndrome child on your hands. Get ready because that will be a lifetime commitment to a mentally handicapped child.
"Consuming alcohol during pregnancy increases the risk of miscarriage, low birth weight and stillbirth
Although many women are aware that heavy drinking during pregnancy can cause birth defects, many do not realize that moderate—or even light—drinking also may harm the fetus.
Fetal Alcohol Syndrome is one of the most common known causes of mental retardation, and the only cause that is entirely preventable. Babies with classic FAS are abnormally small at birth and usually do not catch up on growth as they get older. They may have small eyes, a short or upturned nose and small, flat cheeks. Their organs, especially the heart, may not form properly. Many babies with FAS also have a brain that is small and abnormally formed, and most have some degree of mental disability. Many have poor coordination and a short attention span and exhibit behavioral problems.
The effects of FAS last a lifetime. Even if not mentally retarded, adolescents and adults with FAS have varying degrees of psychological and behavioral problems and often find it difficult to hold down a job and live independently.

I will try not to be rude or judgemental. You are 14 weeks pregnant, it doesn't matter if it's 1 drink or 13, drinking alcohol while pregnant causes birth defects and brain damage. You may be blessed (lucky) and have a healthy, happy baby, but I'm going to be honest with you, alcohol during the first trimester is BAD, this is the time your baby is doing most of it's vital developing. Your few nights of partying may cost your child a lifetime of disabilities and you have no one to blame but yourself. I hope for your child's sake that you stop drinking from this point on and tell your obstetrician what you have been doing so when your baby is born they are prepared for the possibility of the worst. I'll pray for your baby and I'll pray for you to see the error in your ways before it's too late.

More than likely, yes you have done some damage to your baby. The slightest amount of alcohol can harm the unborn child. It doesn't matter if you get "drunk" or not, you really should avoid alcohol during your pregnancy.
here, read these, they'll help you to understand better...at least i hope they help you.

Please stop drinking if you continue yes, this will cause harm to your baby. Your baby now has eyebrows, but no eyelashes. Fine, light hair is also beginning to grow. Yes you have hurt your child every sip slows your childs growth! 10 drinks i would ask your obgyn immediately, to check your blood to see if the baby has been affected! you made a mistake its normal in life! I'm not judging you! Ask your Obgyn for the test!

This is hard for me to answer without being rude but anywho I will try. There is really no telling if you have caused mental or physical damage to your baby. You will just have to wait and see.
