I had this one boss whom basically whenever he "communicated" with anyone he yelled and screamed, cursed, and berated them -- even customers.

He has 3 basic rules he tells EVERYBODY...

1) Dogs are better than people.

2) People are never as good as they say they are.

3) People are never worth what they say they're worth.

...He's also the president of the company :-P lol

Yes, they are usually the ones who are insecure about their job and have something to prove, or they are the territorial type that want you and everyone else to know that they are God.....

I ignore mine, he isn't worth my time as he flips faster that a pancake maker. Just let him think that he is 'THE MAN', then I do what I need to do and leave.

End of story.

Yes, Just recently I had a woman boss who spent the whole day screaming and swearing at us staff particularly the Junior members of staff. It drove all of the staff crazy and the place was so highly unproductive as staff kept leaving all of the time and she was constantly training and hiring new staff hence contributing to her frustration. She was digging her own grave with the abuse but couldn't see it.

But my advice is to leave the company. You may think that you can put up with it but why do you deserve to? No one deserves to be treated like that and you can go somewhere where they will appreciate you. Try and look whilst you are there for something else if you can. Trust me it is better to leave in the short term because of the effects it has on self esteem. It is just crushing confidence and perhaps making you feel like you are no good when it is just not true. The quicker you can get out of there the better.

I got to the stage where I couldn't put up with it anymore and left and although I was out of work for a few weeks I have never regretted leaving for 1 second. Now I have a job where I get the respect that is deserved to any human being.

I've had some psycho bosses before but I don't recall a screamer or not one that screamed all the time. I'd quit. I quit all pyscho-boss jobs. Life is too short to work for a wacko.

I went to a Dr. once. I had my records faxed to him from an out of state hospital. He couldn't find the records in my chart. He left the door open and went to ask the staff where they were. He yelled at his staff, using obsene words, and calling them stupid. I wasn't there when he came back to see me (if he did) . I figured if he treated his staff that way, I didn't feel I could trust him to take care of me.
