What kind of beetles burrow in wood and fly?

I live in AZ.and in my back yard i have a small wood pile. in one of the logs we noticed holes and alot of "saw dust" coming out the hole. the last couple of weeks we have noticed big flying beetles coming out (2) what kind of beetles are these and do they hurt (bite or sting) people and how can i get rid of it??

Could be carpenter bee's. They look like a large bumble bee.

Wood beetles. They bite wood. Diesel will whack them.
