So I was on an interview with a company the manager told me that once a position opens up, I will be in, but I have been waiting for a month now and I have called them about 3 times already. The manager told me on the third call that I am on top of his list and I should check online on their website for openings. There hasn't been any openings posted so far, and I haven't called them in the last 2 weeks. How long should I wait and when should I call them up?

dude. move onto another job. if the one that opens up then quit the job that your working at and then take the one that really want.

Some places take an amazingly long time. I applied online at Coca Cola and got an e-mail a YEAR later. Of course, by then I had another job. If you really want to work for that particular company, keep checking back, but if you need a paycheck, don't hold your breath.

I think you answered your own question. If it's been 6 weeks its probably not going to happen. This line is often used by employers to say "I'll call you later" and then they don't call back. If you are serioulsy inerested in this company, get a job in a similar line of work if possible, or else just get a job.
