The government doesn't like those facts to leak out. They try to be a vague as possible.
Those in the media who work in the White House reports right on the right or middle of the road. One story too far to the left and the White House kicks them out.

Not a question, just a rant. Surely even you can appreciate that the people who attacked Iraq, despite world opposition, are much more powerful than any media people, who didn't (and couldn't) attack anyone..
