I will be going to Las Vegas, NV in a few weeks and was wondering where you can go with a family. Obviously, casinos and bars don't exactly work well with kids.

They have hundreds of things to do, many of them free.

If I knew the ages of your kids, I could give you a more age appropriate list of things to do. Without the ages I would just be guessing.

These are great for kids of all ages though
Fountains of Bellagio
Fremont Street Experience
Masquerade Show in the Sky - Rio

The kids are going to want to spend half the day in the pool anyway.

Caesars Palace & the Forum Shops>FAO Schwarz, Disney, Warner Bros etc

Gameworks by Steven Spielberg in the Showcase Mall next to MGM

The Lied Childrens Discovery Museum - 4th largest childrens museum in the world - 100 or so hands on exhibits - $6 for kids under 17

Siegfried & Roy's Secret Garden & Dolphin Habitat

great shows for kids
The Tournament of Kings - Excalibur

Dirk Arthur - Tropicana - "Extreme Magic" $30-$35 but 2-4-1 coupons are available in the LV magazines in your room or in the hotel gift shop.

Mac King - Harrah's $7.95 with coupon, available from the booth in the carnival court next to Harrah's

Rick Thomas - Magic - Orleans

We like the buffets for the variety, my favorites for great food at good prices
Main Street Station
Boulder Station
Orleans
Palace Station

My favorite burgers
Terrible Mike's - Orleans

for a dog
Slots-A-Fun $1.25 footlong 1/2lb with all the fixins
Hound Doggies
Orleans - Gold Coast - $1

You've already gotten a lot of good answers. Of course Circus, Circus is a must. One place kids love to go is the Sharks Reef at Mandalay Bay. I don't know how long you are staying but Zion's Canyon is about a 2 1/2 -3 hour drive.
Also, if you rent a car, don't rent from the airport, they have some pretty high fees attached to their rentals
Vegas.com should have some good ideas as well.

-Out door (pirate?) show in Treasure Island hotel
-Water fountain show in Bellagio
-Venetian has a nice atmosphere inside, just walk around with the kids or probably riding gondola
etc etc...the page will be full if I keep writting :)

Circus Circus has the worlds largest Indoor amusement park in the back and Circus Acts and Arcade in the front. My kids use to like it better than Disneyland.
