I've been really concerend about the state of my liver due to abusing pain killers in the past for chronic pain I used to have and really feel like I need to get a liver function test to be able to put my mind at ease, but like I mentioned in my question, I don't have a general doctor, but I do have an obgyn. Would the obgyn do the test for me if I asked him to?

Your ob/gyn wouldn't be able to do the test but he would be able to give you a referral to someone who would be able to the test for you. And you can be sure too that he'll send you to someone who's good and will take care of you. Good Luck!

your ob/gyn would not be able to help you, because he does not specialize in that area, and doesn't have the lab equipment to do it. However, she/he should be able to give you a name of a good internist who can do the test

No, not qualified in that area but would probably refer you to a regular doctor.
