Depends on which part of the body. The best idea is to let that part of the body rest. If in the foot, stay off it. If in the shoulder, limit the use, don't life, etc.
Ice or heat both work well to reduce the swell ling. Taking an anti-inflammatory like Aleve or Advil works, if you can take them, but take them with a glass of milk or after a meal to protect the stomach.
If the tendinitis has not resolved in ten days or so, go see a doctor. It can become a permanent problem if not treated correctly.

It does sound love it might be a tendonitis. Unfortunately there isn't an convenient reply for achilles tendonitis in view that your ankle is so phone. Rest is relatively the great factor to do, and paintings on stretching your calves to alleviate the stress for your ankle. Trigger factor cure can support for your calf muscle, and ice/relaxation the tendon. The drawback might be a heel spur. That might be extra painful and extra permanant. He will have to definately get a podiatrist to appear at it if the soreness keeps or will get worse after a threat to relaxation it. They would possibly prescribe an anti inflammatory or deliver a cortisone shot as good.

Ice the injury several times a day, and wrap the leg in a compression bandage. Rest the leg for several days, and massage the area. Stretch every night, and before you get back to running.
You can try a mentolated rub if there is a lot of pain, but the ice should help.
Hope you feel better soon!

-itis is inflammation. So tendonitis is an inflamed tendon. Use an anti-inflammatory like ibuprofen and rest. If that does'nt do it, see a doc for a cortisone shot.
