Unfortunately, potilical ignorance is not a good excuse to fobid someone from voting. As a matter of fact, having a high school diploma does not guarantee that the person would have enough knowledge about the constitution to make a scientifical decision, as the one you are proposing.
My opinion about your question? No, people should not be required to have a HS diploma to vote. In a democracy anyone should be free to express their vote, regardless of their origin or educational level.

By the end of High School most kids will have been politically brain washed and taught exactly what to believe in order for the government to maintain the status quo. I would prefer to have the ignorant voting. Under your plan why not make it PHD's and land? Oh, don't you have those?

No that would be like establishing a poll tax so that African americans couldn't vote, like they did before there was an Amendment prohibiting it. That is a freedom of America. You'll just have to live with the politically ignorant voters.

In an just about 3 hundred year historic previous, it has in basic terms been in the final 60 years or so as that having a extreme college degree has been a known in this united states of america. in basic terms before WWII, we had a extensive production and agricultural base in this united states of america, and it replaced into basic for the common guy in spite of shade to have little greater effective than an eighth grade guidance, if that, extraordinarily in an agricultural region the place little ones have been appeared on as further farm palms, and did not desire a extreme college or greater guidance with the intention to do this. on the grounds that WWII, and with the creation of desktops, our collective ability set has shifted to the place a extreme college degree is had to get a job. That achieving a extreme college degree has grow to be a norm is a pondered photograph of the changing economic device and academic desires of the country. It replaced into on no account a call for to vote in the 1st place, and if it have been, it would have left the votes in the palms of a small elite group previously WWII. To make that a call for now might nevertheless smack of elitism, and particular, it would sell a racist coverage. in case you elect to inspire greater people to end extreme college, then guidance is the foremost, not putting down a set of folk, and keeping them from being heard for the time of election time. funds is a good motivator, people who finished extreme college or GED make way greater effective than people who do not. this could be a rustic of the people, by way of the people, and for the people, and putting a coverage including this in place might have ruled out lots of the people early on, and can rule out a extensive variety of folk immediately. So I ought to say no.

I always say "The stupidity of the general public never seems to amaze me, and you really cant fix stupid"
However, as sad as that is, it would be unconstitutional to prohibit anyone from voting for lack of education because we both know that book smarts don't always mean common sense, and I think that's what it is that a lot of people lack today.

no, i dont think they need that... although more education on the people who we have to vote for would be a great idea, i voted for the first time last week in a state election and i had no idea what to do or who to vote for, instead on sledging each over on tv ads the partys should show every body what they will and want to do for us. that would help.

Where do you get your information? You sound just as "ignorant" as the people you are trying to keep your vote away. News flash ***Most of the people in the country who dont vote do not have high school diplomas***

There should not be any limitations as to who can vote. Only allowing people who graduate high school would be akin to charging a poll tax to vote. A high school diploma does not make one smart.

People who drop out are normally the politically inactive who don't vote. Because of their ignorance and refusal to become active in politics, idiots get elected.

The political system as it is would collapse. Most of our politicians rely on ignorant voters being led like sheep by news bites and 20 second commercials. We can't have intelligent, educated voters. Too inconvenient.
