No links, but in 1869 Wallace informed Darwin that he was going to publish a paper on the impossibility of the human mind/brain being evolved. Darwin wrote back something to this effect; " I hope you have not killed this " child " of ours ". When Darwin received the paper and read it, he put this in the margin; No!!!!!. This sharp departure from evolutionary theory, that only mans physiology evolved, is still mistakenly held by social scientist and humanities scholars, to one degree or form, or another. Wallace thought god had crafted the human mind/brain and ended his days trying to get in touch with the dead. Today, many social scientist think that we are fully shaped by culture; with no evolved heritage. This is incoherent, but Wallace's damage has been done. Darwin went on to write about mans full evolution. Go here and you might find something on this.http://www.aboutdarwin.com

They certainly didn't fight over anything. Charles Darwin had been working on his theories for years upon years and had not yet published his book on natural selection. Meanwhile, Alfred Russell Wallace had come up with the same theory of natural selection. When Wallace found out that Darwin had the same idea, they agreed to present the theory to the scientific world at the same time instead of giving all the credit to Darwin. Actually, Darwin HAD formulated the theory first, but he was slow to publish, mostly because he wanted to avoid the controversy that was sure to erupt.

Alfred Russell Wallace had published an essay around 1868 (exact date not in my head at the time) about an evolution theory, or natural selection, the same thing Charles Darwin was working on. Wallace read Ddarwin's work (before it was publlished) and insisted he publish his work. Darwin's work came to be known as On the Origin of Species by means of Natural Selection.
Hope this helps!

Well Darwin came up with the theory of evolution so I am guessing that the two got in a fight about it. No one really believed Darwin so they could have been talking about ethics or God and how the world changed...i dont know...just a guess
