I was always told with any of my body piercings (except my tongue) to clean it with saline or sea salt water. I was told never to use peroxide. I would try the saline or sea salt water for a few days. If that doesn't clear it up I would definately go back to the place you got it done to ask for advice.

Peroxide is bad, it dries everything out. What you need is a salt bath for your piercing. When mine started showing signs of infection, I did a salt bath and it helped.

Measurements don't matter here... dissolve salt in warm water (sea salt is the best but use what you've got) then dip a clean washcloth into it, and apply to your piercing. Hold it there a few seconds, dip, and hold it there again. Do this several times both inside and outside your nose a few times a day. It should help! Also, don't "rinse" the salt off when you're finished, just let your nose dry, or pat it with a towel on the outside.

BTW, don't PLAY with your piercing! It's tempting, but don't do it! That's a sure way to get an infection!

Good luck!

P.S. I don't know why wankers like the first answerer even bother... what a waste of time and space!

Never use hydrogen peroxide. This causes dryness. You should also avoid washing it with soap. Considering you piercing it yourself also, just increases your chance of infection (I got mine piercing like that years ago and I got the longest and worse infection ever).

I would suggest buying a piercing aftercare solution to rinse it 2-3 times daily with. At the same time you can also try sea salt soaks. In a small sanitized cup add a small pinch of sea salt (that can be found in your local grocery store) and heat it up with water until the water is warm (not too hot). With a cotton ball rinse the piercing 2 times a day. You do not have to rinse it from the inside of your nose since it is difficult to reach the piercing hole from there (and when you do it won't really make a difference).

Also make sure your piercing site has enough air to circulate. If you have a stud make sure its not too tight to the skin. I've loosened mine up so that I can see a little bit of the stud bar. You need to make sure your piercing has this room so that air can circulate. If you don't then your infection won't get better (plus the sea salt and other solutions won't be able to enter and cleanse your piercing properly).

If your infection doesn't go away in the next couple of days I highly recommend going to your doctor. They will most likely put you on antibiotics.

Okay first take a shower it will loosen up the (if there is any) crust, dirt, etc. Then use a mild hand soap-NO scent (I suggest dial-its orange) lather it up and then use your fingers to twist the nose ring around a few times that will help with any infections. Then use some 1/2 teaspoon sea salt and then put it on a cotton ball hold it on your nose for about 5-10 minutes and just do this 1-2 times a day until its fully healed.

I really dont know, since i dont have one, but you should go back to the place where you got it pierced and ask them if they have anything to fix it with. If that doesnt work, go to your family doctor!
