Well, first you're going to want to go to school for Cosmetoligy.

After you graduate, follow these steps:

Always practice! Whether it be on yourself, or friends and family, practice, practice, practice! You can only get better.

Take pictures of your work and build an album that you can show to clients or people that you are applying to work for. Along with this album, create a website to showcase your pictures.

Go to the makeup counters in your local department store and ask if they are hiring (bring your album in case they want to see if you are qualified).

Good luck! You're still young, don't give up!

You DO NOT need to go to cosmotology school....
I am a makeup artist and I went to school specifically for that. The school is called Make Up Designory (MUD) and they have them in NY and Burbank, CA. They teach you all that you need to be a professional makeup artist... unlike cosmotology school, which you have to do hair, and also nails, to pass. Before attending school, however, it's great to have other makeup experience. I had about 2 years experience working for department store cosmetic lines Estee Lauder, Lancome, and MAC which was great, and really got me familiar with products & skincare and being comfortable demontrating products on customers, which is VERY important. Drop your resume off at local department store makeup counters, or sephora, or ULTA, or some kind of cosmetics job... & good luck!

It depends on how much time and money you want to spend. You could complete an extensive course that covers all aspects of makeup which would take months, including blood and scull caps as well as beautifying makeup. Make Up Designory is good, or a makeup boot camp like at Take Up Makeup. Not as extensive , but if you are anxious to start.. Depends what you are looking for. If you are looking to become a cosmetologist or Aesthetician, you will learn some makeup, as well as skin care. To work in a salon you need either of these licenses, but no license for a makeup store or counter or on films.

Depends...do you want to own your own salon or do you want to work for someone else...if you want to work for someone else, go to cosmo school...if you want to have more freedom get your business degree while working at a makeup counter...and if you are truly serious than spend you time at both learning as much as you can from those who have more experience than yourself...
