All relationships end eventually. People turn against each other,or drift apart,or move away, whatever. Isn't it a waste to expend love on people,as mutable as they are? Why not consider that the "things" you love are completely dependable...favorite movies, books, etc. Always there for you, never change on you, never get old. So why bother with people at all, beyond the level of casual acquaintanceship needed for a reasonably healthy social life?

The favorite things that you listed cannot hold you when you need to be held. They do not care when you are sick or hurt. They do not laugh at your silly jokes. Only someone that shares your love does these things. It's human nature to want love.

I know of quite a few couples that stayed in love and committed until their partner died. And after their partner died, they still loved the other person.

people that really love each other find each other. Thier lives interconnect & they hold on to what they have . They don't turn on each other unless they try to hurt each other . THAT is NOT love . When you love someone you r there 4 them. You don't leave them unless they ask you too. The heart stays loyal to that love & so does that physical being of a person. When they move away love makes the heart grow fonder. You find them & go back to them ... Thats love& it always should be dependable. Its what makes us happy . It last a lifetime.
