Most OBGYNs give a 20 week ultrasound and this is usually when people find out the sex of their baby (if the little stinker cooperates!). With my second one I found out at 16 weeks because my husband was leaving for training and we wanted to know before he left. I talked my midwife into giving me an ultrasound, and she said that sometimes you can tell as early as 13 or 14 weeks. Sometimes it isn't all that pronounced, so waiting until 18-22 weeks makes the chance of error a little smaller. But they can still get it wrong even then!

I was about 15 weeks when I found out I was having a girl. The tech said they could tell as early as 13 weeks. It depends on the technician's skill and if you have a cooperative baby. Some baby's hide. A friend of mine went at 20 weeks and the baby kept her legs closed the entire time. Good luck and Congrats!

pretty much depends on the position of the baby when you go in for an ultrasound. I am 15 weeks now and they scheduled me for april the 19th. BY then i will be 19 weeks.. so i think they normally say between 16-20 weeks they can see.. but i could go in and the baby be totatly flipped and them not be able to tell me anything!!!!!!!
drinks lots of water when and if you do go in to find out. mY doc told me to drink about 4-5 bottles of water before i came in ((dont go to the bathroom either)) and that will help bring the baby to the surface.....

If you are lucky enough to have a sonogram early on, the sex can be detected as early as 12 weeks. Otherwise, it's standard to have a sonogram somewhere around your 20th week, and they will definitely be able to tell the sex then, as long as the baby is in a good position!

I went in at 12 weeks and the ultrasound tech told me 75% chance it was a girl and it was a GIRL! The tech told me that when it's a boy the genitals point up and when it's a girl the genitals down, my daughter were pointing down and when I first saw it I immeadiately thought another BOY....but she proved me wrong. Those ultrasound people really know they do it everyday!!!

at around 20 weeks they can find out at a ultrasound because the baby doesn't produce sex organs until just before that time.
