Painted and bertie are correct.

And it's "koi". Coy is like sly and sneaky.

Generally, Koi are pond fish, not aquarium fish. If they are small and you have them in a tank I am thinking it is the PH level at that part of the water. Do you have any circulation in the tank ... has the water been changed enough, or too recently to be accommidating to them... usually I use Stress CoatAloe Vera PH, Chorine and Chorimide neutralizer before putting fish in the pond, let alone a fish tank with is much more susecptible to errors since tanks don't have the volumes of water and natural dillutions that a pond does.

If you put these fish in a new uncycled tank they probably are sick from an ammonia spike. Test your water or take a sample to the pet store.

is the water cool enough? koi and black moors like colder water. also keep in mind koi get very large and will do much better in a pond. check your black moor to see if it is going gold, that is usually also a sign of stress brought on my warm water.

Koi are pond fish, not aquarium fish. They will need way more room than a Black Moor (which I assume is what your other fish is).

did you treat the water with anything first, like start right or something? fish need to have certian things in their water to stay healthy and if you used tap water it has clorine and stuff in it that isnt good or them, try going to your pet store and getting something to make the water better for them, good luck :)

is this a brand new tank? take your water to pet store to be tested. it might be out of whack ie ph off, nitrate or ammonia bad. quick. do it asap.

I think they're just skimming the bottom.
