the slacks would work but i wouldnt pair it with anything in the jean material.
slacks with a nice shirt and blazer or cardigan would deem business casual.

Depends on your office policy, I've worked at three different business casual places - 1 didn't allow denim of any kind. However, the other two places allowed denim skirts and blazers. My favorite standbyes are corduroy slacks and turtleneck sweaters with boots in the winter, in summer I wear various skirts with cute heeled sandals.

Lauren Conrad from the hit reality show, The Hills, perfected business casual, in my opinion.
When in the office, anything denim is a big no-no.
A cute, stylish, but appropriate idea for the office is slacks (if it's hot out, dressy "bermuda" or just above the knee length shorts are a great look), heels (they can be sandal kitten heels if you want.. as long as they're heels!), and a cute tank top with a light cardigan over it (accesorize with pretty necklaces and earrings--pearls? chandelier? Delicate, pretty pieces are great).

No denim is normally a rule, but I would check the with the handbook. I think a pretty sweater and slacks. A really cute A-line skirt with pretty fitted stretch shirt with a cardigan and pumps.

Nice pants/skirt/dress with nice shirt/blouse/top and nice shoes. Comfort & Nice are the two words to remember.
If you wear it to the beach - forget about it. If if consists of clothing that is uncomfortable (heels, hose, suits, ties, etcc..) then it is dress business.
Jeans and jean-like material, tshirts & 'tenna' shoes are an evening or weekend wear unless you work in a office wear they are permitted on Fridays....

it depends on the occassion, at my job we can wear jean jackets with kahkis or slacks, we can even wear polo shirts, just nothing branded. When it comes to pants, no jeans or cotton, (like no streatch pants, or joggin pants) tops can not be baby tees, anything with a collar

Business casual means no suit and tie for men or suit and pantyhose for women required. So separates would be OK. NO denim.
