I have a solid background of training in guitar (classical and acoustic). I know my techniques and my theories. Now I'd like to learn how to play a mandolin. Will it be very difficult? Thanks.
Please also tell me more about your mandolin experience. I'd like to hear it.

If you know guitar, mandolin will be easy. There's only two hand positions. It'll kill your fingertips until you get calluses, no way around it. It might take you some time to get used to playing on the backbeat. Have fun.

i've played guitar for years. i picked up a mandolin, learned some chords and no. it's what you make it. some people are better and picking up things quicker. i play the mandolin alright, mostly irish stuff, but i have never had any luck getting good with banjo. go figure. it's all on you man. good luck.
