Don't fill out applications and send out resumes and expect that to produce results. You need to network and call in favors with friends that work for companies that you like. Make sure you use every open door and window, not just the obvious stuff. Volunteer with a company that is doing a long term charity project. When it's done, send your resume to the person you met there and as them to forward it to HR. If you do things like that you will be more successful.
