it may be a good thing but it may not help you
most of the driving psotioins i have held asked me not only about my driving record but wanted a driving history of what type of driving i have and havent done and what types of vehicles i was familiar with

You should at least have a passing grade or else. If you have no points at all, you have to retake the driving lessons again or maybe even start at the beginners level.

yes 0 means you have not been pulled over recently or have had an accident that was your fault.
