Robert E. Lee: "Tell A. P. Hill that he must come up." Lee had left Gen. A. P. Hill with his division at Harper's Ferry to secure the place. But when the Union army actually stormed across the creek called Antietam, Lee sent his order. Years after the war, Lee lay dying and delerious, and his last words were, "Tell A. P. Hill that he must come up."
