well they will change the tone of their voice, they will usually make a gesture of some sort, they might roll their eyes. usually they say something a little uncommon....on the computer they would say something outlandish and may use astericks or something like that...i hope that helps

In writing it can be rather obscure sometimes, especially here where some people have difficulty with the English language.
