Shame on you for even asking. There is no reason you cannot read and comprehend that book. Perhaps you need to get off the net and poke your nose into a book. This is one of the most important works of the 20th century and I am sorry but a short summary just will NOT cut it. Read it. And think of this poem when you do.
Then They Came.
When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.
When they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.
When they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.
When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out.

First off, you need to read this book. It is an amazing document of history that is an absolute must read.
The book, or diary rather, was written between 1941 and 1944 by Anne Frank, a young Jewish girl caught in the middle of World War II in Amsterdam. Her family, along with a second family, took refuge in an attic. This book is her writings on her feelings, concerns, wishes, dreams, and nightmares. It's her innermost thoughts while trapped in this place with no way out until all those living there were caught.

It's the story of Anne Frank's growing up during a struggle against racism. Read the book. It's quite moving and is the true story of the Frank family and their friends. Her father found her diary when he returned to their hideaway after the war. Good luck with your homework.

About Hitler hatred to the Jewish people. Ann was 13 years old. Had a older sister. a Mom and Dad. They went into hiding. To try to save their lives from the Hitler and his enemies.
Fate was not kind. There hiding place was found. The teenage girls were separated from their parents. The mom died. Ann 's sister and Ann were in the same concentration camp. Ann's older sister died of Typhoid and starvation. And just 2 weeks later Ann died of the same thing. They were blest to be together. And die together within 2 weeks apart. The father Mr. Frank was the only survivor.
Hitler's own mom was Jewish. As we know he was quite evil and insane.

My super short condensed version:
It's about a girl who has to live through the Holocaust[being jewish] stuck in her basement with other people like her fearing for her life every time she hears footsteps.
--
The super helpful version that tells you what it's actually about:
Otto Frank moved his family to Amsterdam from Frankfurt, Germany, their place of origin, once the Nazis came to power and began to enforce cruel laws enacted against the Jewish population. In Amsterdam, Otto enjoys some success as a businessman, but he keeps a close watch on the spreading power of the Nazis. When the Germans invade the Netherlands, the Frank family goes into hiding in a small area above Otto's office. They are joined by the van Daan family. Many of Otto's employees aid the hideaways as they wait and pray for an end to their terrifying ordeal. The war takes a terrible toll on Holland, and food becomes quite scarce. Starvation and crime become rampant in the small country, which only worsens the plight of the Frank family and their friends who hide with them.
On the pages of her diary, Anne explores love and questions the meaning of life in a way that is quite typical of a young teen, yet quite extraordinary under the circumstances under which she lives. Her portrayal provides a stark glimpse into her extraordinary ordeal. She captivates the reader with an innocence that contrasts the stark reality of her situation.
The diary ends abruptly on August 1, 1944. There is no sign-off and no explanation, although it is known from historical records that the family was betrayed and captured by the Nazis.

Ok..I am not going to give you every detail but this is what I learned...
Annelis Frank was born in June of 1929.
When she was 13 years old, she and her family went into hiding because the German Army advanced in The Netherlands.
Despite the terror surrounding her territory, Anne wrote things in her diary that reflected a typical adolescent girl: school, friends, her cat Mooje, why she quarreled with her mom, etc.
Sometime in late 1943 or 1944, the van Pels moved in with the Franks. The van Pels had a son Peter, who was 3 years older than Anne. At first, her and Peter argued or rather DISAGREED with things. But as time passed, Anne found herself liking Peter a little bit more each day.
On August 4 (I think), 1944, Karl Silberbaur and his regime arrested Anne Frank and her family. Anne was sent to Westerbork, a transit camp in The Netherlands. Two months later, her family was chosen to be sent to Auschwitz, a concentration camp in Poland.
Upon arrival, Anne was forced to strip naked and all of her was shaved off. She was to endure hard labor and starvation.
Later in 1944 or early 1945, Anne and her older sister Margot were sent to Bergen Belsen concentration camp in Germany. They would never be liberated. Anne and her sister died of typhus in March 1945.
After the Bible, The Diary of Anne Frank is the second piece of literature that is sold. It has been translated in over 30 languages.

Its not really a story, it's a girl's diary that she kept while in hiding during WWII. I had doubts about reading some girls diary but was shocked to find what an amazing writer Anne was! you should definitely give it a try.

The diary of a jewish girl hiding in amsterdam during WW2. It portrays life in a claustrophobic hide out without freedom of movement, how they tiptoed around during the day that no-one would suspect they were living there and about the relationships between the various people hiding there. Highly recommended reading
