Taking in calories is correct. I had the same issue as you growing up 6'4" and struggled to just maintain 165.
I gained weight by changing my diet. I switched from three meals a day to 5 . When everyone else was having a snack I was eating another meal. I started to eat foods high in starch and in protein. I'm assuming you want to add on muscle not just weight if this is the case then also, look into a whey drink. and use this with your meals.
I am now 33 6'5" and a stout 230. I still after all these years have to eat like a horse just to maintain weight.

hey dicarlos...
the thing here is not what your eating and or not... its really what your doing..
slow down and lift heavy weights....
and you need to eat more protein, like eggs...
do a google on body building...
stay away from the above posts... the junk food will have you in the health questions in a year or so... LOL...
be sure to drink good water like "FiJi" water
4 to 6 cups a day...
to build your body up you have to just lift heavy'er weights...
6 to 8 reps' of max weight 3 sets'...

The only possible way to gain weight is to take in more calories then you burn off. Increase nutritional meals and lift weights, but make sure you keep a ratio of more calories taken in then burned
