I think pedophiles should be castrated. There is a very high rate of re-offending. And seriously, if you do the crime, you should pay the crime. We are spending for too much time thinking about the rights of criminals and not about the rights of the victims.

While emotionally I often feel the same way you do, you need to look at this issue from a different point of view . . . should we then cut the arms off of thieves? All of them, or just the ones who commit grand larceny? Further, how many recent cases have come to light where a man imprisoned for rape has been proven innocent in the light of DNA evidence, police and/or prosecutorial misconduct, or false testimony by witnesses? How do we then "uncastrate" the man?

Y E S !!! we would desire to constantly all behave as responsible, and morally stunning adults in this earth. admire for an further, and fairly for women because of fact the mothers of the countries, might desire to be between the very fundamentals of human life. If we won't be able to admire that very needed area of mankind (our very own very own sexuality), then we would desire to constantly be punished for it in a manner which will with a bit of luck deter all from desirous to attempt to dedicate this despicable crime called rape. And if the belief of castration would not deter those creatures, then they have deserved the resultant castration, so as that they are in a position to be reminded for the remainder of their lives that lady (and all beings, because of fact the unusual guy is likewise raped) might desire to be respected.

Rape is rarely about the sex, it is about the power. Even with castration they are likely to re-offend in some capacity.

Actually, rapists aren't driven by sexual urge. It' something much more sinister. They typically want the feeling of power and the idea of their victims' helplessness.
So removing their testicles them wouldn't really prevet anything. In fact, they'd probably commit more violent crimes -- like murder, and I doubt they'd grant their victims the privilege of a quick death. For a good example, reference the "Saw" movies. The predator wants the power to intimidate and sway their minds into being humble. While being humble and appreciative are good morals, we can place this guy in the deranged category due the nature of his means of persuasion.

No they should not be castrated. By castrating them we are saying you are not human and you do not deserve to have a penis. Where is our humanity if we could do that to someone.
Also there are female rapists. How do we castrate them?

I personally favor disarming them completely. I'm very serious. The prospect of squatting to pee for the balance of a rapist's life would be very, very likely to blunt his appetite for brutalizing women.

they can do that, and remove all of the males 'package', but they just end up using household items to penitrate. they just keep doing it, over and over again.some men voluntarly had it done to themselves, and they just used items to violate again.
they are BEYOND sick... they are a danger to society.
so, to answer your question... it isnt effective, they've tried it.
i think they just need to exterminate all of them. thats my opinion.
