Oh, I see. Trying to sneak a baseball history question in under the guise of a regular history question huh?

He was describing the 1988 home run by Kirk Gibson off of Dennis Eckersley in the World Series when Gibson was lame on only one good leg.

The tip off was your Jack Buck clue.

The game winning pinch-hit home run by Kirk Gibson of the Dodgers in Game I of the World Series in 1988.

Jack Buck was the play-by-play announcer and where a severely injured Gibson came to the plate and blasted a home run in the bottom of the 9th inning, that was his commnet. It is still considered today as one of the most dramatic plays in all of sports, not just in baseball.

Jack Buck died in 2002.
