First you must create a file. To do this, you can log in to your FTP, by going to this file under your internet explorer:
FTP://www.yoursite.com
It will ask you for a username and password, which you provide.
If you are using Internet Explorer, click "Open Page in Windows Explorer" under the "Page" icon.
Otherwise, you can hookup an HTML Editor (You can search engine it for one or go on download.com) and provide that same information to set-up FTP, and the editor of your choice can provide more details.
Anywho, you can upload a file by creating one in a word processor, type your text, and saving it as "index.html", saving it as a .html file.
Upload this by opening the ".html" file's folder and doing a copy>paste into the FTP window.
If you haven't already, you want to start learning HTML and possibly JavaScript, two programing languages used in the world wide web.
There are tons of little details that would take too long to describe here. Contact me via email and I would be MORE THAN WILLING to help you along the way. I own a website, www.lukeishere.com, and I would be glad to help.
Hope I can answer your question! Feel free to contact me with your solution or any other problems/details at any time, either on Yahoo! Messenger or by email.

Congratulations! Your on your way... After you get your domain name you need a site that will host your website. (You will need to pay for the majority of these sites.) My personal pick would be myinternetservices.com. It's fairly cheap and a great way to start off your website. With it you can connect to domain name with the ability of editing it using myinternetservices.com. Once you've done that you can enter in your PHP, HTML, and java. It's not too hard once you figure it out.

Just get a web hosting plan (Domains are usually bundled with hosting), and get a good HTML editor to create your site..
I first started with 1st Page (http://www.evrsoft.com/) a free and very easy to use HTML editor (Website creator). When you get more into websites and get more picky about design you can use Macromedia/Adobe dreamweaver which has more features..
Hope this helps & good luck :)
