I hear that you can also get a discount if you use a specific type of "discount word" or "phrase" for that specific hotel chain when you make the reservation. I have found that Holiday Inn has decent rates (and a good environment) for a hotel (as long as its not one of their higher class hotels).

No such thing, 20% of all hotel rooms are being renovated now in the Keys. They were all expensive even before that.
