It's a "human" thing...this lying...I don't know of anyone who hasn't ....there are some who lie obsessively and some rarely no matter what their Faith or lack thereof...it's something that is as individual as finger prints...and each, on his or her own, must make that decision.
Most are taught that lying is wrong...It can be hurtful and cause damage. The answer is within each of us as individuals .....the key is wisdom.....and God's Wisdom can and should be our guide

Well, I don't think that would be fair to the person dying.
If you were in your final weeks of life, you'd want to know so you could prepare yourself, your family & friends, & get affairs in order.
So, yeah, I think that is wrong.
But, whether its right or not, I think softening the truth in a situation like that is the Christian thing to do. Instead of "you have one month to live", I would say, "you're not getting any better, but keep fighting! still there's a risk you may not make it past a month." or something like that.
Everyone sins. Its a fact. So if that was considered a sin, a Christian will be forgiven by God. Sometimes we're not even aware we're doing something wrong.

Lying is a sin no matter who does it. If you are put in a situation where you think you have to lie you should stop and pray about it first.

well it depends on what rule of the teleological theory you follow i.e Love, some rules take priority over others and there is no excuse for lying. I usually follow the second one.

I wouldn't lie to them about that...that is a cruel lie when they themselves know they haven't long to live. That is downright cruel to lie about that.
I don't even know you...where are you? We are not fortune tellers.
If I ever lie that is between me and God...He gave us free will and it is up to us what we do with it. We have to answer to God...no one else.
