selling a laptop in egypt?

im thinking of coming to egypt this summer and want to know if i buy a laptop from here (America) and sell it in egypt how much would i expect to get for example i buy a dell laptop something basic like the Inspiron 1501 and try to sell it there?.

Do not bother. Prices of lap tops especially Apple are cheaper in the states but very few people are willing to take the risk and buy it from an individual instead of an authorized dealer where they get a warranty.

You will probably not be able to sell it for a profit, so forget it

I think instead of telling you how much the selected model here in Egypt, I can select you some models which will be more easier to sell here, I mean the models that every body is looking for a good deal for it

for Example

HP - DV2000 core 2 Duo 2GHz Processor with Cam and Geforce and at least 120 GB HD

HP - DV6000 with same above specs

Dell XPS m170 with geforce 7800 or 7900 which you can buy it cheap from ebay then sell it here and so on

hello and i hope you enjoy your travel to egypt iam mostafa an egyptian and for your chance i was working in computers and laptop field so the answer is : it depend how many laptops you will bring as you can only enter with one or two without charge but if you bring more you have to pay 10 % for each laptop as tax charge and even so you can earn good money from 100 us dollars from each laptop

I understand you just want to buy one unit & make some profit, well don't buy something very basic. get the dell 6400 it's quite cheap in the US & you can sell it in Egypt for much more & still less than price in Egypt.

also consider refurbished dell go to the outlet & try to grab something ;)

I got an XPS M140 for $800 & it was worth over $1200 & in Egypt even more than 8,000 pounds.
