Because marriage is security in a way (your husband/wife to be there take care of you if you are down, house, cars, routine in life), and being in love often isn't? People who are committed are too afraid to 'uncommitt' just in case it might be the wrong decision!

Due to the fact that the individual wasn't honest from the start. Sometimes, it due to an emotional break-up. One that was left unresolved. No closure.....

To save face. Who wants to admit to their friends, family, co-workers, THEMSELVES that they couldn't make it work, that the big wedding they are still paying for was for a marriage that is now a failure. But, it isn't really a failure, it just wasn't meant to last.
