or their race, or their mothers, who are not looking for docile or passive women they can control, not looking for a trophy? I notice some (I repeat "some") black women say those things about black men who date outside the race, but when it comes to black women (like Kerry Washington, Halle Berry, the Serena & Venus Williams, or past stars Dorothy Dandridge, Lena Horne) they are either congratulatory or silent! I see plenty of black women with white men-should they be accused them of havin some sort of personality defect!?! If black men are all the deginerates some claim they are, they should be happy to see them go-right? Black women have always had at least sexual relations with white men-thats consensual. Its rumored that the slur "honkey" comes from droves of white men coming to black neigborhoods "honking" their horns to pick up black women (lol-true or false). Yet an overwhelming majority of black men date black women. At least keep citicism equal, if against interracial dating.

Sure, if they don't exclusively date outside their race(for the men & women). And talk down about their own kind, like some do when they [in their mind] "move up" by dating outside their race.

I don't understand why color is an issue anyway; isn't this 2007? With so many biracial children, we are all a very mixed lot. I am a white woman, who has dated both white & black men. I, too, have heard the garbage that black men don't date black women because black women are stronger, put up with less sh*t, etc. I have an extremely strong personality, and don't take jack sh*t off of nobody! (That's the country in me coming out--and no, I'm not white trailer trash, sorry; I'm college educated.) What I do NOT understand however, is why are black men "players", and why do so many women feel that it is okay to sleep with another woman's man? At the point that you know he has another woman, why on earth lower yourself in such a manner? You tell the girlfriend "his dick is that good" (oh, please, NO man's dick is THAT good); you tell the man that you don't care how many $itches he sleeps with, as long as you can still have his dick, and so on. Yet, you are strong women and the girlfriends are trash or a $itch? Ladies, men get away with this crap because you enable them to do so. Women should stick together in this world--regardless of color.

I disagree with the insinuation that white women are all docile and submissive thus black men go to find these "weak" white women because they cannot handle a sister.
My father was a black man. He married one of the strongest, most powerful, and scrappy white women I have ever come across. My mother was never the kind of person to take things lying down and my father respected that. She was a self made woman and he was a powerful self made man. Together they raised me and my siblings to be strong and successful WOMEN.
As a grown woman who is a product of an interracial union, I can say that there are strong women in all races just like there are strong men in all races that are comfortable in their own skin. Not only do these men accept them but they admire them.
My husband is also a beautiful, strong, and powerful black man and he would demand nothing less from his partner.

approximately 20%. I as quickly as observed an episode approximately this on Jenny Jones. (It wasn't very very nearly black adult men, yet featured white adult men, black women persons, etc.) yet i in my opinion would desire to care-much less approximately their selection, because of the fact i'm not attempting as much as now each and every BLACK guy. I purely want a guy who needs me, this is that straightforward. I understand that persons exterior of my race understand the thank you to enjoy me additionally.

I'm confused but there is no need for a double standard anywhere and of course there are black men who date white women (that are not fat, sloppy, trailer trash, and are not gold diggers, or easy to control) just because that's what they like. My brother is one of those black men :)

I personally don't worry about or judge black men, or anyone really, for their personal choices. I have always dated outside my race, and my fiance is white/asian so I think it would be hypocritical of me to form some weird judgement on black men. Just be with who you're attracted to and try not to worry about silly people and their double standards/ignorance.

I agree. I'm in a relationship with a white man and I've dated other races before. I've gotten crap from other black men for it (yes, it's not only the women!), but it doesn't really bother me. You shouldn't let it bother you, either.
