its not too early. once you have your first period, your vagina is fully grown and tampons CAN be used. larger sizes will likely be uncomfortable but there are slim and teen sizes avaliable. if you want to use them you can but it is not required. use whatever you feel comfortable with, but it is an absolute myth that you can't begin using tampons immeadiately.

When you are regular, When you do make sure to try find the right one for you and make sure you get the right absorbancy (light/heavy) It may take a while to figure out what your normal is.... I use Tampax, one because i like them... two because i can get several sizes in one box.. as your period can start and finish lighter then it is during.. also because my periods change from one to the next so it is nice to have the right tampon for each period! It is also a good idea to invest in some panty liners until you get the right tampon .. sometimes they are good for when you are doing extra activity .. like jogging or something... or when you know you will not be able to just jump up and run to the bathroom right away (like at school) this all to help you stay a little cleaner in the event of a leak.
When you are ready, have a chat with your mom about it and she may be able to help you find the right one for you.
And last but not least... be sure to read the inserts.. the how to.. warnings etc.
Good luck!

Don't worry if they don't make you feel uncomfortable go and use them now, but if it hurts you then wait a little longer. Ok
