1. Whales are mammals. They feed their babies milk that the mothers make in mammary glands.
2. Fish travel in schools because they are less likely to get eaten when they are in large groups. Just imagine if a tiger came into your classroom. Do you want to be in there alone or do you want to be in a group of 30 people?

a whale is a mammal because it breathes air. it goes down in the water and then comes back up to breathe. A mammal; is an animal that breathes air while a fish is an animal that can live under water without air.
fish travel in schools for protection. IF they are alone then they can easily get eaten. They feel safer with other fish just like people feel safer with other people when they are in a certain area. A fish is very small and the sharks and whales can eat it when it is alone but it is most likely they will survive in schools.

anything that gives birth is a mammal.

fish don't give birth because they lay eggs.

fish travel in schools because it's safer.

if they wander off alone, they would surely get eaten.

don't listen to answer number! some sharks give live birth, and carry fertilized eggs in a "womb" male seahorses give live birth too!
