"They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security."
- Benjamin Franklin
For those of you who don't care. Just know that once these rights are gone, you're never gonna get them back. That's why the rest of us hold onto them for dear life.
Another thing to consider... if they can take one constitutionally given right away... they can take them all.

I agree wholeheartedly the worst attack on civil liberties in America happened on George W. Bush Jr.'s watch and that will be his legacy as a president of The United States. In the emotional aftermath of 9/11 The White House and congress rushed to accomplish something they have wanted to do but could not for years. Now that the federal and state governments also city governments like New York city have the right to invade anybodies privacy on a whim do you they will ever willing give it up?

That's alright, when the Jihadi extremists that want to nuke your hometown get their way because you and your ilk tied the President's hands, at least your precious civil liberties will be in tact, because that really is the main thing, isn't it ?
What makes you twerps on the left think the President & Co. really care that much about your calls to your pot dealers so much, anyway ??

Benjamin Franklin was correct. Some of these Republicans that support Bush and his power grab do not deserve neither. Anyone who would give up their rights and freedoms do not deserve such rights.

You are 100% correct. Security is an illusion, like control it is unattainable. I do not want to give away free and unrestricted travel in the hope that terrorists wont target me. I find that the simplest answer is Kill them so that they cant kill us.
