Here's the deal: My brother was calmly eating breakfast this morning when the phone rang and this teenage girl was asking for my nephew, since he wasn't there my bro said he was his Dad, and then the girl proceeded to tell my brother that my nephew has a girlfriend and that he won't acknowledge her, that he is one of the cutest boys and he doesn't pay attention to her and that makes her mad.
Then she asked if my brother knew that my nephew had a girlfriend and my brother answered yes, do you know her name...the girl hung up.
Now my brother is perplexed, he doesn't know if he should call back to the girl's home or not, or if he should just let it slide...
Any suggestions?
I remember the times when you just called and hung up as soon as you heard the guy you liked on the phone...this is just too wild for me to understand...lol.

This is a real situation...
My nephew is quite nervous now...and my brother has decided to let him handle it.
Which also makes me laugh a little...I must admit.

Whoa! My son is only 13 so this is a stretch for me, however, I think I would just let it slide, unless my son WANTED me to get involved, or unless he thought this might be a potential stalker situation. Teenage girls will be teenage girls and they can be pretty wierd sometimes (exerience speaking). Besides, what could your brother POSSIBLY say to this girl that would change anything for the better? If I were your brother, I would probably just advise my son to THINK about whether this girl might have a valid point and go from there.

I am a little unclear as to whether this girl IS the girlfried or just KNOWS the girlfriend. Does your brother even know? If this IS the girlfriend, I would be a little concerned about the controlling issue, but I doubt the son would welcome his dad's comments on the subject. If they have a good relationship, maybe your brother could just suggest to his son that this girl might be a little possessive and let the son make his own decisions about whether or not he wants to be in that kind of a relationship.

Good luck to your brother and his son. Teenage waters are sometimes a little treacherous to navigate.

Hmmm. She is probably plenty embarrassed already, but she also apparently delusional. It might help her in the long run for her parents to know she's doing this. Perhaps they could get her some help, or maybe a life, before she really gets in trouble. To me that sounds like the beginning of a stalker, a real-life one that can get pretty spooky. I don't blame the nephew for being nervous!

Ask her out back and furnish to assist her locate/pay for a babysitter. All that cancelling and uncancelling might have been because of her having issues arranging childcare. Take the newborn out of the photograph for some hours and spot if she would be in a position to get mushy and positively refer to you. in case you attain getting her out with out her newborn and he or she nonetheless acts distant, then she is probable no longer involved. you look like a valuable adequate guy, wish it works out.
