Okay here's how it goes: If you return the movie late but within 30 days of renting it, you have to pay a restocking fee which is $1.25 per movie.

If you turn the movie in more than 30 days late, you MUST buy the movie.

Trust me, I got a bill for $72 dollars once. I raised bloddy hell, because they didn't specify if I bought it in a month late I'd have to pay for the movie. They relented and I didn't have to pay the $72, but I learned a lesson.

Basically, if it's less than a month late, you just have to pay $1.25 per movie (not per day), but if it's more than a month late, they'll charge you the full purchase price.

restocking fee means if its returned within 30 days (or close to it) you don't pay a "late fee". they dont have those anymore. after the 30 days, its $1.25 per movie to reshelf it, or you can buy it.
