They're artificial. What they did was to take pre-fabricated gift shops and bolt them together, and then use tugboats to haul them out into the Aegean and sink them to the bottom, thus providing one of the finest collection of tourist traps ever devised by mankind.
Well, at least that's what they look like when you take one of those horrible tours of the islands. I thought I was gonna die, and only barely escaped the classes in Greek dancing with my life.

There are so many islands in Greece. Each with its own history and legends. You have to be more specifice
