J.C.W. Wylie's "Irish Land Law" is a good book and very factual, should keep you reading for a while too since the latest edition contains some 1176 pages. Personally I'd recommend "Ugly" by Constance Briscoe, which if, as I suspect, this 400+ page book search is intended as a punishment, may be a little more inspirational.

"Sahara" by Clive Cussler
"Drowned Hopes" by Donald Westlake is a riot. Down-on-his-luck burgular John Dortmunder is the best crime planner around; its not his fault that Lady Luck loves screwing with him. When an ex-cellmate wants help recovering the hidden loot from an armored car heist, what can be easier? Did he mention the City of New York built a reservoir over the hiding place? Can Dortmunder find a way to get the loot without blowing up the dam and flooding the town on the other side? Why is the reservoir trying to kill Dortmunder?

Why does it need to be more than 400 pages?
Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, War and Peace...there are others, those are just the ones that popped into my head first.
