As much as I'd like to say yes I honestly don't know. And I don't think anyone can really answer this question with a yes or no without experiencing the situation for themselves.

I would try to save the life of a stranger, but in common with anyone who attempts bravery, I would not think about it before doing it, so if death was the result of my act, so be it,. But, I would not willingly die for a stranger, as there are too many people that I love and who love me, that would miss me.

as much as i'd like to say yes..no. Only because i don't know that person and am not close to them. if it was a stranger that maybe i felt like...something with before i met them, then MAYBE..but honestly the answer is no. But i would die to save maybe someone really close to me's life, but only if i was REALLY close to them and they deserved to live.

I think in this situation, if you see someone in distress, your actions take over, you don't think of your own situation!
But if I thought for one moment that my own life would be in danger, then the answer would have to be no!
I would not risk my own life and leave my 4 children without a mother for a stranger!

You're kidding, right? Hell, when I go on holiday abroad and swim in the sea, I make sure that I'm near a bunch of kids just in case a shark should pop up. I'd be chucking the little blighters behind me in order to make my escape!

That is a tough dilema
If you had a family then obviosly you wold not want but if you were truly brave then you would let another person live at your expense.
