I saw it when it was first shown on TV, I was about 10 and it scared the s*** out of me. This was of course around the height of all the fears of a nuclear holocaust in the 80's.
Saw it again at school a few years later. Not so scary but still hit a nerve.
I wouldn't mind seeing it again now. It may not have the same impact but it is a very powerful drama.

Seen it in 1983/4 and it was repeated about 5 years ago. Excellent movie and I think accurately reflects the mood of the 1980s. ( for some people at least) i.e. It's just a matter of time before Russia nukes Britain.

Not a fun movie to watch, quite harrowing and it left me thinking that if ever a situation like that happened it would far far better to get killed in the initial blast than to try and survive.

Watch it, it's one of those films you'll remember for a while.
